Infant Allergies

There are many types of allergies and many categories of allergic people. Unfortunately there are also cases of infant allergists. And one of the most common infant allergenic factors is the milk they need to grow, as milk is a very significant part in the diets of infants and children. It supplies calcium and vitamin D; these are indispensable in the growth and progress of children.

There are two types of milk available for a baby: the mother’s milk and the milk formulas. If the mother cannot provide enough milk or has a problem and cannot breastfeed her child, there are many kinds of special formulas for small babies.

A small infant can develop an allergy to its mother’s milk, and also to the milk formula. The quality of a mother’s milk depends on her organism, but it matters very much what she eats. Because of this, there can be problems caused for the baby. If the baby is allergic to milk, its mother’s and the milk formula, she should find another diet, prescribed by the podiatrist!

There are two types of baby milk formulas – the cow milk based and soy based milk. If the infant is allergic to cow milk, than the soy milk is a great solution. If it happens that the baby is allergic or does not tolerate soy milk either, the physician will prescribe a formula that shall be able to nurture the milk allergic infant. In most cases, the babies will grow out of their milk allergy eventually and will be capable of eating a normal diet.

However there are infants who do not outgrow their allergies to milk and it can become a more complex issue as the child grows up. These children will have to avoid many food products as they grow. In these cases, the parents need to be instructed and then very careful what food products they can and cannot give their children to eat.
